Are GoonSwarm not going too far?
I can understand getting competative about a game, or flaming enemy alliances etc, but the constant trolling and venom being spit at everyone everywhere is at least for me souring the atmosphere of this game.
And stuff like in this thread http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=643070&page=7
where some people are repeatedly making fun of another players dead family member is going too far and making me feel like not paying CCP any money if this is the kind of community they are going run. Do CCP even enforce rules within their own message boards and games anymore.
It's like being trapped in secondary school with a bunch of spiteful anti-socials in here at the moment.
Unfortunately I don't have an in-alliance character to post this with at the moment but it concerns mostly this forum, and I'd like to hear other players thoughts?
Is this the environment people want to play in?

Like I said all my characters are atm in npc corps anyway. There doesn't seem to be any other forum where this type of discussion belongs unfortunately.

Sounds like you have a problem with spiteful anti social types. There are plenty of single player games available you know..
No I expect any game I play and pay for, mmo or otherwise, to have some basic rules and set standards about how other players conduct themselves.

It is not my concern that is okay for people to do nothing but insult other players? You are happy playing a game where it is standard practice to mock other players over real life deaths?
I was not the one who brought real life into this, I'm commenting exclusively on things said in this forum already.
As for propaganda...It's a computer game mate. My last alliance was blue to your alliance and Goonswarm too. I don't care enough about who is winning wars in a game to try post "propaganda."

The only thing there is to get it seems is that you cant bear to play the game without being as nasty as possible to hostile alliances.
I know plenty of other alliances past and present have acted like prats too, and done their fair share to lower the tone, but there is such a thing as taking it too far. Still I can see people here are more concerned with who wins their video game war than how vile they are being to other people. I'll write to the mods and leave you to it.

Very much.
Although some folks might appreciate a variation of Comic Code - style enforced policies, I prefer this sandbox. You get to act pretty freely, but have to face the consequences.
So, instead of asking some higher authority to set standards, be part of setting them by yourself. Get folks holding the same views united, and threat Goons by in-game consequences unless they enforce standards defined by you.
Then again, such approach might not work out if you are just a lonesome troll.

I'm not complaining about alliances fighting other in-game over various drama or standard insults. That's fine, fun, and part of the game.
I'm complaining about vile s**t that no decent person would ever say to another whether over the internet or not being posted here.
The fact you can hardly get a word in edgeways without it being trolled and flamed and forum relegated into uselessness is almost a seperate issue. Whatever though.
